Why are we special ?

The B.Sc. Honours Degree in Estate Management and Valuation  is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the year 2023.  

The degree has been accredited by Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors (RICS-UK). Further, Postgraduate Diploma in Real Estate Management and Valuation and M.Sc. in Real Estate Management and Valuation Degree program are also offered by the department paving path for higher education in the real estate field.

These programs are rather professional in nature and designed to cater the specific needs mainly in the fields of Real Estate Valuation, Real Estate Management, Urban & Regional Planning, and Housing Development in the Country. These degree programs are pioneer land-based professional courses commenced at the University level in Sri Lanka and still the sole degree programs in the field of Real Estate Management and Valuation in the country.

The average annual student intake of the DEMV is around 50-65. At present it has 15 academic staff members and a 03 non-academic staff members. Over its period of existence to-date it has produced nearly 1200 graduates.
